Amazon is set to close its ad-supported streaming service, Freevee, after a five-year run. Content from Freevee, which includes original series like Bosch: Legacy and Neighbours, will soon be available on Prime Video.
In this shift, Amazon aims to create a more seamless experience for viewers. "To deliver a simpler viewing experience, we’re phasing out Freevee branding," an Amazon spokesperson said, adding that both Prime members and non-members will still have access to free streaming, including Amazon originals, licensed content, and FAST channels.
This move follows Amazon's recent efforts to streamline its streaming options, despite previously denying reports of Freevee’s closure.
